The 15th annual CX race will once again take place at the Big Valley Resort in St. Catharines.

General Information

Cowbell Events is proud to present the ~15th 2024 Cowbell CX Race - nowadimsayin. This year's race consists of 11 events. The race will be held again at Big Valley Resort in St. Catharines. 90% of the course will remain the same with a new section added.

Location: Big Valley Resort, 2211 King Street West, St. Catharines, L2R 6P7

 

Parking: Parking will be available at the rear of the park. Stick to the roads on the right, and see map below.

Registration

Registration is open!

  • Registration is open to all riders.

  • There will be "day of" registration. 

  • Licenses are not required for this event.

  • Registration will close at 11:59pm on the Thursday Sept 5th.

Webscorer is the official timer of the Cowbell CX race.

Gear and Equipment Rules

  • Wear a helmet when racing. 

  • There are no official tire width restrictions for this race.

  • For the single speed event, zip tie your shifters if you don't have a single speed.

Number Placement

  • All riders must wear their bib numbers on the right side

  • Bib numbers should be placed on the right arm and lower back.

  • All bib numbers must be visible throughout the entire race and cannot be covered.

Awards

  • Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each category.

  • Should categories be combined because of low participation numbers, results will be broken out for awards. Awards will be awarded based on the results of each category separated.

  • Riders can wear what they want on the podium, even wear a Canadian tuxedo.

  • Medal presentations will take place following the conclusion of each race.

Parking and Facilities

Parking is located at the rear of the park. 

Washrooms are located near the pool. They contain paid shower stalls

Registration is in the middle of the park. 

The Start/Finish is located in the South West corner of the park (follow the music)

Course Map

The course will largely be the same as previous years, with a new addition being added. 

The target is to get 2.2km per lap which would work out to roughly 6m30s for the Elite men.

Even & Course Safety

  • First aid tent will be located under a tent near the start/finish area.

  • For your safety, if you withdraw from the event for any reason, you must inform the nearest commissaire that you will no longer be racing. 

  • Riders are required to wear an approved, regulation cycling helmet at all times while riding their bike.
